FRANCHISING THE RAGDOLL
The next important step in the history of the Ragdoll was to try to control the Ragdoll through franchising.
Ann thought she would generate money from this system for the rest of her life. There were many things included in this contract that was 8 pages long. The contract included, among other things, how much a breeder had to pay for each kitten born, how many catteries were allowed per state, how many breeders were allowed to breed Ragdolls abroad …
Ann stopped franchising because the costs for a lawyer were too expensive because they had to be involved and paid for every change in the contract. Franchising also had to be set up in every state, which would cost a lot of money.
